Ron Adsett
Tania Kernaghan and Ron in store 2004Owner & Boss. Ron opened the Store in 1987, leaving radio where he was music director of a successful Country Music radio station. Since then he has taken an active role in the Country Music Industry and it's administration, to encourage it's growth as a vibrant adult music alternative.

Ron has worked for over  30 years in the Australian Music Industry, in sales, marketing and promotion, with major and independent companies.  He has been a Music Director in both Sydney & Brisbane Radio stations in the 70's & 80's, and presented Country Music programmes on 4BC Brisbane. He was CMT's (Country Music Television's) first consultant to the Record Industry in Australia, is a founding and still serving Board Member of the  Country Music Association of Australia (CMAA), and has been a judge of the ARIA Awards and the Country Music Awards of Australia over many years and is long time member of the CMA (USA). Ron also reviews for Capital News and some of those reviews can be found on the Album Reviews page. In 2004 he formed the group of industry identities to found the Bellbird Music label.

Rosie Adsett
Co-Owner of the business, Rosie is concentrated these days on the interest in Country Music studies at a university level and is doing her PhD at the University of Queensland on this subject. She is still involved as a recent judge of the CMAA Country Music Awards of Australia and is a Reviewer for Country Update Magazine and you can check out her Album Reviews here. Rosie and Keith in store mid 1990's You may also see her name on the bottom of many of the Mail Order forms if you are already one of  our thousands of customers from around the world.  (G'day and thanks to Tom in Canada, Werner in Switzerland, Cherrian in the Shetland Is, Domenico in Italy, Uwe in Germany, Lisa in Nashville,  Ann in Nova Scotia, Jorgen in Norway and Nancy in Dallas..... and all our great international friends).

One of her real passions in the last decade has been the tour that we have taken to FAN FAIR (CMA Music Festival as it is now known) in Nashville for most of the 1990's. Visit our Fan Fair Tour Pages for some of the stories of our travels to Country Music heaven... however, with her studies increasing, Ron's record label taking off, it's unlikely we'll have time to create any more annual tours for some time, though a reunion tour is always on the cards. The 2000 Tour Diary and Hillbilly Neil's 2000 Tour photo's are still online. If you have ever wanted to go to Nashville, or would like to know a little more about our tours of years past check out our pages here.

Little Rosie with Keith Urban c 1990Rosie Underwood
Rosie II (aka Little Rosie). Looking after the retail end of the shop is Rosie Two's responsibility. She takes care of the "walk-in" customers and all incoming stock as well as mail orders. Little Rosie is also the premiere Australian fan of BR5-49, Billy Joe Shaver, and the Dixie Chicks, not to mention Danni Leigh.  She has all their albums! Her ID # on her BR5-49 fan club number actually says AUS001 !  But Keith Urban is her big act, having watched him grow from young man with a big guitar and lots of ambition to the undoubted international star that he is today, CMA Male Vocalist of 2004!

Meryl Davis (Beryl to her mates) is our handy little filler-in. When one of us has to be away from the store, at board meetings, album launches, leading Aussies around Nashville, or what ever, you're likely to come across her, answering phones, doing lunch, writing letters or getting orders out. Meryl was for many years until the beginning of 2004, the Secretary and Event Manager for Qld Champion of Champions and knows just everyone in the whole Qld Country Music Club community. It is, however, with great sadness, that we note the passing of her father, the legendary bush ballad guitarist Barry Thornton on Sunday, July 28, 2002. In 2004 she joined us in launching Bellbird Music a specialist reissue label, initially taking up the Hadley Records catalogue of classics for the new generation to enjoy.

Reyn Adsett

Reyn is the webmaster and helping hand around the store. When not away tending to studies, he's helping out behind the scenes or in front of the counter. Sometimes mistaken for the boss because of his suave and dulcet phone manner, he gets away with more than he should. No picture available at this time
